There are many side benefits to cruising, including:
- Relaxation. Cruising can be a great way to get away and just relax. No demands on your time, no need to be anywhere or to do anything. All your needs are provided for. Some cruise lines even have adult only areas (no kids) and spa amenities (for a fee).
- Safety and familiarity. When you travel from town to town, you must familiarize yourself to each new environment, i.e., finding the ATM, restaurant options, is the area safe, what areas to avoid, as well as language and cultural issues. With cruising, your surroundings remain consistent and safe*.
- Know your costs up front. Because so much is included with your cruise, and if you book your excursions in advance, you can pretty much know up front what the cost of your trip will be. Do bring spending money for extras, such as beverages (often not included), souvenirs, special meals, etc.
- There are cruise options for everyone. With a variety of cruises targeted to singles, couples, and families, offering different destinations and varied amenities, you’d be hard pressed not to find a cruise that suits you. Even social and professional groups organize cruises.
If any of these benefits appeals to you, consider taking a cruise. It can be a great way to get away.
*While most cruise ships are relatively safe, appropriate precautions should be taken to protect yourself from potential crimes.
