Here’s a fun and creative idea if you don’t carry a journal but want to record your travels. Create a post card journal.
Every place you visit, purchase photo post cards and journal about your travels on each post card. Then, address and send them to yourself. At the end of your trip, you’ll not only have a record of your travels with a beautiful photo and a journal of your experience, you’ll also have the stamp and postmark of the place you visited.
When you return home, allow time to receive your cards as it can take 2-3 weeks to receive overseas mail.
Store and display them so they can be viewed on both sides by putting them in binders in acid free photo album pages that normally hold photos. Where you would normally put 2 photos in a pocket back to back, just stick one post card in each page so you can view it from both sides.
Photo pages can hold post cards of most all dimensions and come in sizes that fit 12”x12” and 8.5”x11” binders. Some good sources include Century Photo, University Products and Archiver’s. You may also find them in your local office supply store.
To save time and effort repeatedly addressing cards to yourself, carry plenty of pre-printed address labels!
